HCM CITY (VNS) — A music and song programme featuring revolutionary music will be broadcast on Ho Chi Minh Television's HTV7 channel next week to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Reunification Day, April 30.

The event, Bai Ca Truong Son (Songs on Truong Son Mountain), highlight 18 amateur singers from the Truong Son Art Club, who are soldiers and children of Truong Son veterans.

They will sing songs about President Ho Chi Minh, the country and soldiers, written by famous composers Xuan Hong, Diep Minh Tuyen, Xuan Giao and others.

"Revolutionary music is the blood that runs through our veins and fills our heart and soul. We are soldiers and we sing it differently from professional singers," said Hoang Minh Kiem, head of the Truong Son Art Club.

The HTV will also begin its special cultural programme to celebrate Reunification Day next week. Many performances and film screenings will highlight the country's heroic victories during the American War. — VNS
