HCM CITY (VNS)– French tennis players won both the men's doubles and singles events at the Viet Nam Men's Futures F1, part of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Men's Circuit.
In the final played at Bac Lieu Province yesterday, fourth seed Laurent Recouderc of France overcame his fellow countryman second seed Lucas Pouille in three sets 0-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) to take the title and win18 bonus points.
It was an easy ride for Recouderc until the semi-finals where he needed three sets to tame top seed Christoper Rungket of Indonesia to reach the final.
In the doubles' event Tristan Lamasine Tristan and Laurent Lokoli of France defeated Dekel Bar and Zach Itzstein, a pair from Israel and Australia, in the final in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. Both of two teams were unseeded here.
The Viet Nam Men's Futures F2 will begin today at the HCM City's Phu Tho Gymnasium. The host representatives in the main round include Nguyen Hoang Thien, Ly Hoang Nam, Tran Minh Dang and Le Quoc Khanh. The finals are scheduled on April 7. – VNS
