HA NOI — Ly Hoang Nam was disqualified from the Viet Nam Tennis Open's men's singles event on October 13 in HCM City.
Junior Grand Slam player Nam lost 2-6, 2-6 to number two seed James Duckworth of Australia.
"Duckworth played pretty well and made me work very hard, and I was exhausted in the second set. I also made mistakes with my service today," Nam, the Wimbledon's junior doubles winner, said.
Meanwhile, Duckworth said Nam was a good player but needed to improve his physique — a common problem of Asian players — a lot more to play better in the future.
Nam, who will next compete in a tournament in India, said he aimed to be among the world's top 800 next year, and among the top 200 in the next five years.

Ealier, Nguyen Hoang Thien was defeated 3-6, 3-6 by Liang Chi Huang of Chinese Taipei.
"I was a little nervous during the match, while my rival was better than me. I played well in the second set, but it was not enough to save the match," Thien said.
