HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam's Ly Hoang Nam entered the second round of the Cambodia F2 Futures yesterday in Phnom Penh.
Nam needed only 16 minutes to advance after his South Korean rival Choi Dong-wee retired because of injury after losing the first set 1-6.
Nam, who is world No 1,049, will next play Temur Ismailov from Uzbekistan who ranks 444.
Another Vietnamese Le Cong Tien also competed here but lost to Roy Hobbs of Singapore in the first qualifier.
The Cambodian event will close on Sunday with US$10,000 for the winners. — VNS
