HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam's Ly Hoang Nam and his Indian partner Sumit Nagal advanced to the second round of the Wimbledon boys' doubles event.
The pair, seeded number eight, on July 8 defeated Alex De Minaur (Australia) and Yosuke Watanuki (Japan) 6-4, 7-5 in a 63-minute match in Court 19.
Today they will play Jonathan Gray and Ewan Moore of England, who beat Kenneth Raisma (Estonia) and Dennis Shapovalov (Canada) 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 in the first round.
Nam last week crashed out of the singles event after his first-round 3-6, 4-6 loss to Patrik Niklas-Salminen of Finland.
It is his third Grand Slam junior championship this year, but the Vietnamese player has not made it to any quarter-final.
His best result was a third-round place at the French Open. — VNS
