HA NOI (VNS)—Teenager Ly Hoang Nam's 95th position in the world junior ranking allowed him to play at January's Australian Open's youth qualification.
The Vietnamese jumped 47 places to enter the world top 100, which was released this week.
The result is due to his triumph at last week's ITF Chang-LTAT-Juniors Group 2 in Thailand.
Nam has made a plan of competing in a number of tournaments with a view to reach the 50th position which will give him a berth in the main round.
It is the first time Nam has reached the top 100. He is the second player after teammate Nguyen Hoang Thien last year to play at the first Grand Slam of the year. — VNS
