Youngster Ly Hoang Nam won the boys' singles event at the International Tennis Federation's Viet Nam Junior Championships after beating No 1 seed Chih Chun Tang from Chinese Taipei in Hue City on Sunday.

Having lost the first set 6-3, Nam rallied back and powered to victory in the second and third sets 6-2, 7-6 (1) respectively.

Nam's teammate, Ho Huynh Dan Mach, also enjoyed the sweet taste of glory after winning the boys' doubles event with his partner Congsup Congcar from Thailand.

The girls' singles and doubles events were all won by Taiwanese players, including Chang Ya Ting in the singles and couple Huang En Pei and Ma Yi Chi in the doubles.-VNS
