The Viet Nam Football Federation (VFF) has announced the two coaches who will temporally lead the national team and U-22 team next month.
HA NOI – The Viet Nam Football Federation (VFF) has announced the two coaches who will temporally lead the national team and U-22 team next month.
Phan Thanh Hung will take over as head coach of the national football team, while Lu Dinh Tuan will lead the U-22 team.
However, the VFF said that it hasn't signed contract with the coaches.
"We haven't signed long-term contracts with Hung and Tuan, we've only agreed with them that they will work for the national team like other coaches and footballers under the rule of clubs," said Nguyen Lan Trung, deputy chairman of the VFF.
Trung also added that the VFF would consider long-term contract signings with these two coaches if the next matches had good results.
Hung, who is now a coach of Ha Noi T&T, will lead the national squad in the next two friendly matches in China, while Tuan, who used to coach Sai Gon FC, will lead the U-22 team in the Asian Under-22 Football Championships 2013 qualifiers to be held in Myanmar from June 22 to July 9.
The 22-member national team will gather in Ha Noi on June 4 before travelling to China two days later.
Meanwhile, the U-22 team will convene in Ha Noi on June 5 in preparation for the qualifying event in which they will play in Group G against South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, and host Myanmar.
Tuan said he had a little bit of pressure but he hoped his team would succeed. – VNS
