The national futsal team has left for Italy to train ahead of the fourth Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) which takes place in Inchoen, South Korea from June 29 to July 6.
The team will have two friendly matches with Italy's men's team during their preparation, which will last until June 20.
In a friendly meeting in HCM City last year, Italy beat Viet Nam 9-0.
"Competing with a leading international team such as Italy is very useful for Viet Nam. We will gain a great deal of experience and hone our skills through these matches," said captain Nguyen Bao Quan.
At the AIMAG, the men's futsal event will be divided into seven groups, with the winner of each group and the best second place team entering the semi-finals.
The draw has placed Viet Nam in Group C with Palestine and Lebanon.-VNS
