HA NOI (VNS) — The opening ceremony of the National Judo Championships 2015 took place September 7 at Sports Center 33 Phan Chu Trinh, Nha Trang city.

The tournament is being hosted by the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in co-ordination with the Viet Nam Judo Federation, and is running from September 5-12.

As many as 190 judokas from 20 provinces and cities throughout the country are competing in categories of men's individual, women's individual, men's team, and women's team.

"This aim of the tournament is to select the best athletes for the Vietnamese Judo team, who will attend international competitions. In particular, strong teams come from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Dong Thap", said Ly Dai Nghia, the general secretary of the Viet Nam Judo Federation. — VNS
