The 54th national cross-country running and semi-marathon tournament wrapped up yesterday in the southern province of Kien Giang.

Bui The Anh of the Army finished first in the men's 10km, followed by Nguyen Van Lai of the Army and Nguyen Dang Duc Bao of Khanh Hoa.

In the women's 5km, Nguyen Doan Thanh Thuy of Khanh Hoa came first, closely followed by Ha Noi's Do Thi Thao.

In the 21km event, Quang Ngai's Pham Thi Binh and Tran Van Loi took the title in the women's and men's events, respectively.

The event, which drew the participation of 250 athletes, was organised by Tien Phong newspaper in co-operation with the Viet Nam Athletics Federation and the People's Committee of Kien Giang Province. — VNS
