Networks sort out broadcast rights


Three television programme producers have come to an agreement to jointly share rights to broadcast national professional football matches.

HA NOI — Three television programme producers have come to an agreement to jointly share rights to broadcast national professional football matches.

The deal was struck by Audio Vision Global Company (AVG), Viet Nam Television (VTV) and Viet Nam Television Corporation (VTC).

VTV will broadcast 40 per cent of matches while VTC and AVG each get a 30 per cent share of matches.

More detailed co-operation guidelines under the agreement will be discussed this week, according to Pham Nhat Vu, chairman of AVG's board of directors.

VTV also agreed to let local television stations broadcast all these matches concurently, according to Phan Ngoc Tien, an official from VTV.

AVG confirmed that all the company's profits gained from the broadcasting rights will be use to support sports in Viet Nam. — VNS
