HA NOI (VNS) — Images of the picturesque Ha Long Bay, magnificent Son Doong Cave, peaceful ancient Hoi An town, scenic Trang An Landscape Complex, and solemn Hue royal citadel are featured in a clip which was released yesterday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Entitled Welcome to Viet Nam, the nearly eight-minute clip, which aims to promote the country, has been produced in nine different languages, including Vietnamese, English, French, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, and Arabic.
The clip presents not only the stunning beauty of Viet Nam's natural landscape, but also the rich culture through footage of traditional festivals and folk art forms which have been recognised as World's Heritages by UNESCO.
The significant economic achievements that Viet Nam has achieved over the past three decades since the country began to undertake the doi moi (renewal) policy have also been mentioned in the clip.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Minh Khoi said Welcome to Viet Nam is part of a long-term programme to introduce the country, its people, history, and culture to the world. The programme also aims to attract capital and tourism investment sources to Viet Nam.
"Through beautiful footage, the clip presents an overview about Viet Nam, about its famous tourist attractions, unique cultural features of each region, as well as achievements on many economic fields over the past 30 years of the renewal," he said.
Khoi said the clip would also send the message that Viet Nam is an interesting destination for international friends as it is a peaceful and stable developing country, which has a centuries-old-history, and friendly people.
Guests attending the clip launching ceremony yesterday also enjoyed a photo exhibition, which displayed photos of Viet Nam's UNESCO-recognised cultural heritages, including the My Son Sanctuary, Hoi An ancient town, complex of Hue Monument, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Trang An Landscape Complex, Ha Long Bay, Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long-Ha Noi, and the Citadel of the Ho Dynasty.
Photos of other UNESCO-recognised cultural heritages also were on display. These included the nha nhac (court music), ca tru (ceremonial singing), quan ho (love duet), space of gong culture in Central Highlands, the Saint Giong Festival at the Phu Dong and Soc temples, the worshipping of Hung Kings in Phu Tho, the art of don ca tai tu music and song in southern Viet Nam. — VNS
