HA NOI (VNS) — Vu Tuan Nghia has won the Nanning-ASEAN Board and Card Games International Invitation Tournament 2014's overseas group in China.
With four wins and three draws, Nghia, who is from the southern province of Binh Phuoc, took the lead among 16 outstanding players from nations and territories such as Malaysia, Cambodia and China's Macau.
An unpopular player, Nghia is 41 years old and often performs well in traditional Chinese chess festivals in the northern region.
The tournament's individual category was divided into the overseas group and the open group.
Eight Vietnamese players participated in the event, with six in the overseas group and two in the open group. — VNS
