This is the first loss of the visitors since the V-League opened this year.
In the first minute of the first half, the hosts Ninh Binh played defence to limit strikers' activities of Sai Gon FC.
As usual, Sai Gon FC attacked to find the goal. With dominant physical strength and speed, the pair of Huynh Kesley-Antonio often created dangerous situations for Manh Dung goalie but they failed to score.
In the 30th minute, Ninh Binh equalled the visitors in strength, however, no goals were scored in the first half.
After the break, the two sides attacked to seek goals.
Receiving the pass from his teammate Gustavo Dourado, Van Thanh headed the ball and scored the first goal for Ninh Binh in the 58th minute.
In the 80th, Tien Thanh doubled the score for the hosts thanks to a favourable pass of Dourado.
Losing to Ninh Binh, Sai Gon FC still keep their top place in round 10 with 19 points.
In other match yesterday, Dong Thap dominated arch-rivals, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, but finished goalless at Cao Lanh Stadium.
