HA NOI (VNS) — Thailand's Supuksorn Nuntana won the overall yellow jersey for best time at the Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Open, which concluded yesterday.
Nuntana triumphed with a total time of 19:53.79 after nine stages, followed by Cao Thi Cam Le and Cao Thi Thuy Trang of Binh Duong Environment and Water Supply-Drainage, and Panwaraporn Boonsawat of Thailand.
Also, cyclist Nguyen Thi That of Gao Hat Ngoc Troi-An Giang won the green jersey for scoring the highest score with 89 points.
The white jersey award for the best young rider went to Dang Thi Ngoc Huyen of Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap. Huyen also won the red jersey as Queen of Mountain with 47 points.
The winner of the final stage yesterday was Nguyen Thuy Dung of the hosts Binh Duong, who clocked a time of 2:54.34 in the race, which saw cyclists traveling from Vung Tau City in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province to Thu Dau Mot City of Binh Duong Province.
In the team rankings, Dong Thap team took the lead with a time of 59:01.32, followed by Thailand and Binh Duong.
The event, which was part of the International Cycling Federation's competition system, saw tough competition from 10 local teams and three foreign teams from Thailand, Kazakhstan and Malaysia.
Cyclists competed over nine stages in both singles and team events, while adhering to international cycling rules.
The annual tournament seeks to provide local cyclists with an opportunity to hone their professional skills and gain experience from foreign competitors, in preparation for international competitions. — VNS
