Every year on November 18, the Sultanate of Oman celebrates the anniversary of the blessed Renaissance Day, led by His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Allah bless him, and during the prosperous era of His Majesty, Oman has achieved many accomplishments in all political, economic and social aspects, which returned Oman to its pre-eminent position among nations, as a secured country enjoying political stability.

Oman's location in the south-east coast of the Arabian Peninsula makes it easy to access important markets in the Middle East, and allows it to export goods to international markets in Asia and Europe through advanced network of roads, marine and air transportation.

All of these make the Sultanate an ideal environment for foreign investment, especially with its attractive economic environment, which was affirmed through global assessments on institutional framework, the economic climate, competitiveness, economic freedom, and the efficiency of the capital market.

The noble values and traditions of the Omani people, based on a spirit of tolerance and rejection of violence and all forms of extremism, have formed a solid ground for communication and interaction with other nations.

On this platform, the foreign policy of Oman has built bridges of dialogue and opened prospects for co-operation and consolidation of friendly relations with various countries, based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.

At the regional level, Oman is making concrete efforts to promote peace and security in the Middle East region through its keenness to use diplomatic tools to achieve that goal.

Building a future: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has laid the foundation for the building of the ‘Oman Across Ages Museum' in the Wilayat of Manah in the Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah.

The Oman-Viet Nam relationship is steadily moving forward. It has been 23 years since the Joint Declaration issued on June 9, 1992 that established relations between the two countries, followed by the visit of the envoy of His Excellency the President of Viet Nam to Oman. Since then, the two countries have started exchanging non-resident ambassadors.

The Sultanate opened the Oman Embassy in Viet Nam in 2010, and has appointed a resident Ambassador in Viet Nam since September 2012.

The two countries have signed a number of agreements of bilateral co-operation, including the Agreement on Establishment of the Joint Committee on Economic co-operation, Agreement of Encouragement and Mutual Protection of Investment and Agreement of Establishment of the Omani-Vietnamese Business Council to name a few.

In order to enhance bilateral economic co-operation, the two countries have established an Omani-Vietnamese Investment Company in 2009, which has focused its investments in a number of important economy sectors in Viet Nam, including health, services, agriculture, energy and infrastructure sectors such as hospitals, highways, power plants and water supply.

The two governments are seeking to expand bilateral co-operation in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, fisheries, tourism, transport, sea ports, telecommunications, high education, health, culture and information. — VNS
