PARIS — French painter Dominique De Miscault today will open an exhibition of 37 paintings inspired by poems by Vietnamese Tran Dang Khoa at the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France.

With the theme of Hat Gao Lang Ta (Our Village's Rice) named after one of the poems in the collection Goc San Va Khoang Troi (The Yard's Corner and Sky's Interval), the exhibition features villages in the north of Viet Nam.

Singer Alain Vu Hoang Mi will join the opening ceremony to recite Khoa's poems, both in Vietnamese and French, translated by Michele Sullivan and Hoang Thi Phuong.

Khoa was dubbed a genius poet following the publication of his first collection of poems, Goc San Va Khoang Troi, at the age of nine.-VNS
