HCM City-based photographer and poet Nguyen Luong

HCM CITY (VNS)— HCM City-based photographer and poet Nguyen Luong Hieu is exhibiting his collection of photographs of the recently cleaned and landscaped Nhieu Loc Canal that flows through several of the city' districts.
Ben Dong Kenh Nhieu Loc (Along the Nhieu Loc Canal), an outdoor exhibition by the side of the canal near Tran Khanh Du Bridge in Phu Nhuan District, has 30 photos on display.
The highlights are seven photos taken from high vantage points that track the canal's entire length through the five districts of Tan Binh, Phu Nhuan, 3, Binh Thanh, and 1.
Vut Len (Flying) shows the origin of the canal in Tan Binh District, Chu Tam (Heart) features its heart-shaped route through District 3, and Dong Kenh Vang (Golden Canal) shows it flowing from District 1 – Binh Thanh into the Sai Gon River.
Three photos of the canal taken in the past by Bui Minh Son are also on display to show the changes that have taken place.
Hieu, 58, born in the central province of Quang Nam, worked as a teacher in Da Nang before moving to HCM City in 1992.
He is now a member of both the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists and the HCM City Writers Association. He has released four books of poems since 1994.
The exhibition will remain open until Wednesday, and then travel to districts of Tan Binh, Binh Thanh, 3, and 1. — VNS
