HA NOI — Pop singer Duc Tuan will perform in Manila in a concert on August 28 to celebrate Viet Nam's 67th Independence Day, which falls on September 2.
Accompanied by the Manila symphony orchestra under the baton of Japanese conductor Tetsuji Honna, Tuan and Filipina Joanna Ampil will sing songs from Broadway, plus Tinh Ca (Love Song) by Vietnamese composer Hoang Viet.
At the same event, a Filipina choir will sing the Philippines national anthem while wearing the Vietnamese traditional long dress while Tuan, in traditional Filipino outfit, will sing the Vietnamese national anthem.
Vietnamese leading violinist Bui Cong Duy will also perform two pieces, one by a Vietnamese and one by a Filipino composer.-VNS
