HCM CITY  (VNS) — Many singers have been working hard at recording studios to complete and release new albums for the festival season, and are confident they will be warmly embraced by their fans.

Tung Duong, Tran Thu Ha, and Uyen Linh are among them.

To finish his latest CD, Tung Duong Hat Tinh Ca Vol. 2 (Tung Duong Sings Love Songs Vol. 2), Duong has been working with a group of professionals.

To bring his fans something new, this time he chose to perform patriotic music instead of his usual love songs.

The album has 11 songs by famous composers like Van Ky, Do Nhuan, and Tran Tien.

Speaking to the media, he said he spent several months in a studio with a microphone in his face to perfect the recording. "Singing revolutionary songs is not an easy task. I sang with all my soul and heart," he said.

Vietnamese-American singer Ha is confident that her latest album, Tinh Ca Qua The Ky Vol.2 (Love Songs Through the Century Vol.2) – a CD of 14 popular songs voted the country's best songs in the 21st century by fans – will do well.

The highlights of the album include songs like Ao Anh (Illusion) by Y Van, Co Don- Bo Vo (Alone) by Nguyen Anh 9, Huong Xua (Old Flavour) by Cung Tien, and Tinh Tu Mua Xuan (Love in Spring) by Tu Cong Phung, which have been sung many times by various singers.

"Ha's album Tinh Ca Qua The Ky Vol.2 is an unusual CD for her fans, but it is her best," said Tran Thi Nhu Quynh of Miami, one of Ha's fans in the US.

Quynh noted that the singer and her technicians, including both Vietnamese and American specialists in sound mixing, took great effort to make the CD a high-quality one in terms of both appearance and content.

Linh, the 2010 Viet Nam Idol, worked with young composers Dung Da Lat and Hoai Sa to produce Uoc Sao Ta Chua Gap Nhau (Wishing We Never Met), a CD of pop ballads written for her voice.

"The most important thing that music fans look for in an album is that the singer shares their feelings as if they were close friends," she said.

Her second album contains seven songs, including Tinh Lai Den Nhu Vua Bat Dau (Love Begins) and Noi Cuoi Chan Troi (End of the Sky), which attracted nearly 10,000 listeners on online music forums on the first day of release.

Upcoming singers like Vu Cat Tuong and Trung Quan are also working on albums for release during the holiday season.

Ha Anh Tuan has finished recording his latest album, Dung Nham (Lava), with eight songs about the world and people that he promises "will … surprise my fans after my last album released four years ago". — VNS
