HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam's representative at the Asia Champions Trophy, the PVF Under-16 team, yesterday lost 2-1 to Malaysia's Harimau Muda U-16 in the first leg of the final at the Thong Nhat Stadium.
Raj Al Mohana opened the score for the visiting team with a successful conversion from the penalty spot following Le Thanh Phong's foul on Najib Bin Abdullah four minutes from the break.
Le Ngoc Bao levelled the match for the home team in the second half with a close-range header from a corner in the 73th minute. However, the Malaysian boys soon restored the lead through Muhammad Bin Samat three minutes later.
The score remained unchanged until the final whistle and the Malaysian team hold the upper hand in the second leg, which take place at Frenz on Sunday. — VNS
