HANOI (VNS) — Tennis player Do Minh Quan will pair up with Le Quoc Khanh to compete for the men's doubles title at the Toyota Asian Championships in Thailand today.
The Vietnamese duo will face off with the tournament's number 2 seeds, rivals from Chinese Taipei, Chen Ti and Chuang Ting-yu, in the first round.
Yesterday, Quan, the national runner-up booked a spot in the main draw for the men's singles event after blazing through three qualifying matches. However, the tennis pro failed to advance to the next round after a 7-6, 6-7, 3-6 defeat by Thailand's Kaewsuto Chayamon.
Earlier, female compatriot Huynh Phuong Dai Trang lost 1-6, 3-6 to Suetrong Thanthita of Thailand in the women's singles draw.
Trang, who will join doubles partner Sabina Sharipova from Uzbekistan, will meet Thai duo Jundakate Chompoothip and Momkoonthod Tamachan in the women's doubles today. — VNS
