HCM CITY — Vietnamese duo Do Minh Quan and Le Quoc Khanh have reached the semi-finals in the doubles event at the F3 Men's Futures Tennis Tournament.
This is the third and last of the three-series Men's Futures tennis tournaments that have been organised in Viet Nam since April 2.
Men's Futures are organised to allow players to improve their ranking and become eligible for top-flight competitions including Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Grand Slam tournaments.
Quan and Khanh overcame the pairing of Filipino Jeson Patrombon and German Maik Burlage 7-6 (0), 6-3 in the quarterfinal match yesterday at the Phu Tho Tennis Club.
This is the second time Vietnamese duo have reached the semi-finals. They did it in the F1 Men's Futures Tournament held two weeks ago.
In the singles event, Quan lost 7-6 (4), 6-1 to Japanese Hiromasa Oku and failed to make it beyond the second round for the third time.
Viet Nam's only remaining representative in the singles event, Nguyen Hoang Thien, will play against Dominik Schulz of Germany in the second round today. — VNS
