QUANG BINH (VNS) — Various activities to promote cave exploration in the central Quang Binh Province will be organised between August 14 and 20, local authorities said at a press conference on August 10.
A workshop to promote investment and tourism will be held on August 14, while a ceremony will be held here on the same day to receive UNESCO's certificate for the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, recognising it as a world heritage site for the second time, thanks to its "stunning biological diversity" and "resplendent landscape".
An art show will follow the ceremony and a firecracker show will take place on the River Nhat Le.
Many new tourism routes will be launched during the above-mentioned days, such as a route to explore the Va and Nuoc Nut Caves; a 10 to 15 per cent cut in tickets to the Phong Nha Cave, the Tien Son Cave, Mooc Streamline and the Chay River – Toi Cave, as well as the Thien Duong Cave; and a 10 to 20 per cent cut for tourist groups.
"The event aims to advertise the distinguished features of the cave system in Quang Binh as well as to confirm the brand of the local ‘kingdom of caves'," Truong An Ninh, spokesperson of the Quang Binh People's Committee, said. "We welcome investors and tourists to visit our province." — VNS
