HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese tennis player Nguyen Mau Vinh Quang defeated Thailand's Suohamit Sae-oui 2-1 to reach the U18 International Tennis Federation's Group 5 tennis tournament quarter-finals in Da Nang on July 30.
Quang beat his rival, seeded number two, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 in the central city.
He is likely to meet number nine seed Park Ui-sung in the quarter-final.
Another Vietnamese player Tiffany Nguyen crushed Kokubo Haruka of Japan 7-5 6-3 to enter the quarter-final.
More than 100 players from countries and territories such as Japan, China's Hong Kong, Germany and the United States are participating in the tournament, which ends on August 2. — VNS
