HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam's Tran Tuan Quynh and Nguyen Anh Tu will compete in the men's double's semi-finals of the table tennis event at the 28th Southeast Asian Games today.
They beat Cambodian pair Lim Sok Long and Nay Saravey 11-6, 12-10, 11-7 in the quarter-finals yesterday.
Earlier, Quynh and Tu overcame Shakirin Muhd Ibrahim and Muhamad R.Muhamad of Malaysia in the qualifying round.
In the other quarter-finals, Vietnamese duo Dinh Quang Linh and Duong Van Nam lost to Tanviriyavechakul Padasak and Udomsilp Chanakarn of Thailand 11-9, 3-11, 11-5, 3-11, 9-11.
Vu Thi Ha and Nguyen Thi Nga were also defeated by Thailand's Komwong Nanthana and Sawettabut Suthasini 5-11, 11-6, 10-12, 8-11 in the women's quarter-finals.
Viet Nam's other representatives Mai Hoang My Trang and Phan Hoang Tuong Giang were stopped in the qualifying round. — VNS
