Rahil Gangjee lifts BRG Open trophy

ĐÀ NẴNG — India's Rahil Gangjee made an impressive play in the third and final round at the BRG Open Golf Championship-Đà Nẵng, scoring 70 (three under par) to win the champion and a US$17,500 cash prize.

Rahil also had three bogeys and five birdies, including three in the last four holes, to take the lead on the scoreboard with total 209 (10-under) and winning the trophy after three rounds (72-67-70).

Aidric Jose Chan of the Philippines, who took the lead after the second day on August 30, missed the title after making a mistake on the 18th hole to score a total of 210 (nine-under par) after three rounds.

He shared second place with Aman Raj of India, whose score was also 210 (71-69-70), taking home a cash prize of $9,250.

Vietnamese amateur Nguyễn Tuấn Anh, placed at the 11th in the table with a total 215 (four-under) and was crowned Best Amateur.

The BRG Open – under the Asian Development Tour series – drew nearly 144 Asian golfers in three rounds of the 18-hole turf at the BRG Open Golf Championship-Đà Nẵng 2024 with total prizes of US$100,000. — VNS
