HCM CITY (VNS) — More than 150 amateur cyclists will race in a bicycle race on the Son Tra Peninsula in the central city as a prelude for events marking Re-unification Day (April 30).
Riders will start from Eastern Sea Park at My Khe Beach and pedal to the top of Ban Co Mount, 573m above sea level.
Rescuers from 15 teams from Australia, Thailand, the Philippines and Viet Nam will also take part in International Sea Rescue Contest in the beach on May 1.
Competitors will display their skills at saving drowning victims at sea.
A cuisine festival will also be held at the Eastern Sea Park. Eighty food stalls will be open.
The park will also host musical performances every night. . — VNS
