HCM CITY (VNS)— The UK-based World Records University's principal Thomas Bains has offered an Honorary Doctorate Degree to six Vietnamese record holders.
They include historian Nguyen Khac Thuan for work on translating and editing old Chinese language documents and work on the history of Vietnamese culture, and martial arts researcher Pham Dinh Phong for his book on the history of Vietnamese martial arts.
According to Bains, Buddhism researcher Vo Van Tuong has captured the most photos of pagodas in Viet Nam and the rest of the world, while composer Le Van Tuan created a new kind of music called CROR – a combination of classic, romantic, opera and rock genres.
Director Nguyen Van Luong was honoured for making the most films on the culture and landscape of archipelagos in Viet Nam.
Another recordholder, engineer Hoang Duc Thao, is the first Vietnamese to have received the highest number of patents from domestic and international organisations.
