HCM CITY (VNS) — Samsung Electronic Co on Thursday launched the "Knowledge Exchange Space – S.hub", an area for reading and studying purposes at the HCM City's General Science Library.
S.hub, an open, modern space for knowledge exchange, includes space for hi-tech devices; interactive online space; and topic-based activities.
Bui Xuan Duc, director of the General Science Library, said: "The establishment of S.hub today is an important stepping stone and shows Samsung's commitment to the younger generations in Viet Nam."
Kim Cheol Gi, CEO of Samsung Vina Electronics Co, Ltd, said: "More than just a modern space equipped with hi-tech devices, we hope to deliver original and useful content for the exchange of knowledge among young people."
The S.hub was launched after the signing of the "Smart Library 2.0" project between Samsung and GSL within the framework of a Corporate Citizenship programme.
Throughout 20 years of operation in Viet Nam, Samsung has focused on initiating community projects related to educational training for youth.
Samsung launched the "Smart Library 1.0" community project in September 2011. During four years of operation, the project helped renovate 50 school libraries; and donated 200,000 books, 300 computers, tablets, TV sets, and DVDs to 50,000 high school students across the country.
Following this success, the "Smart Library 2.0" was created to meet the increasing demand of youth for a convenient, inspiring space for studying and exchanging knowledge. — VNS
