Science show to air on TV

The Vietnamese version of the hit television show The New Inventors will hit screens on Monday night at 9pm on Viet Nam Television's Channel 2.

HA NOI (VNS)— The Vietnamese version of the hit television show The New Inventors will hit screens on Monday night at 9pm on Viet Nam Television's Channel 2.

The show will introduce three inventors and their unique inventions, which will be demonstrated and examined by expert judges.

The New Inventors is encouraging all sectors in society to participate. The show will recognise the amazing and inspiring stories of the inventors themselves, celebrate the inventiveness and resourcefulness of the human mind, and marvel at the determination and hard work of those who slave away to make their dreams come true.

As many as 26 shows have been commissioned and the show will air twice a week on Monday and Friday nights from January to July 2013.

The weekly winner will be awarded a trophy and a cash prize worth VND20 million (roughly US$1,000). A winner will also be chosen at the end of the year and rewarded with a total prize worth VND1 billion.

This is the first project for which Viet Nam Television has bought production technology copyright. The New Inventors is an Australian show broadcast on the ABC Channel. — VNS
