INCHEON (VNS) —The second Asian Para Games wrapped up in Incheon, South Korea yesterday, with Viet Nam ranking tenth in the medal standings.
After the weeklong event, Vietnamese athletes brought home nine gold, seven silver and 13 bronze medals, with one world record and four Asian records.
The team surpassed its target of obtaining six to nine gold medals and ranking 15th in the medal tally.
Swimmer Vo Thanh Tung left a strong impression, winning five gold medals for the country.
The second Asian Para Games took place from October 18 -24 with the participation of 4,500 athletes from 41 countries.
The team of 45 Vietnamese athletes competed in six out of 23 categories: track-and-field, swimming, weightlifting, badminton, table tennis and bowling.
Indonesia will host the third Games in 2018 . — VNS
