HOI AN (VNS) — The latest 100 collections of silk scarves from famous silk centres in Van Phuc, Nha Xa, Tan An, Hoi An and Ly Silk have been introduced at Hoi An Silk Village in celebration of Christmas, and will last through lunar Tet holiday in February.

The Ly silk brand, in co-operation with Hoi An Silk, created the luxurious silks, which carry images of villages.

Hoi An Silk Village, located at 28 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in ancient Hoi An town, is a silk-weaving centre and museum of the ancient trade in the central region.

The village was voted as the third best attraction in the UNESCO-recognised world heritage city on TripAdvisor last year.

The village cultivates 40 strains of mulberry used to produce some of the country's top quality silks, including some even used by the former Cham rulers of the area.

The beauty of the village, live demonstrations of Vietnamese silk weaving, and showrooms of silk suits and dresses make it an apt place for the Viet Nam-Asia Silk Culture Festival in March. — VNS
