HA NOI (VNS) — Head of the Viet Nam Sports Administration Vuong Bich Thang said that up to 60 sportspersons will receive special support to win at upcoming international competitions.
These competitors must be training in sporting disciplines that are always organised at the Asian Games and Olympics. Their performance during training and competitions must be close to the top three spots in international tournaments, and they must show good potential of winning a berth in next year's Olympics in Brazil.
After being selected, the players will enjoy better salaries and nutrition regimes as well as healthcare services. Experienced foreign experts will be invited to take care of them, and the sportspersons will also get opportunities to take part in intensive training courses and competitions abroad.
Thang said that another list of about 100 sportspersons will be made for those who will compete in lower-level events such as the Southeast Asian Games, and young players who show great potential for the future.
The administration will cover all expenses, which will be about VND 500 billion (US$23.8 million) in 2015. — VNS
