The hosts took the lead in the 12th minute with a goal from Ashari Shamsuddin. Francis Forkey Doe quickly made it two before Pham Van Quyen pulled one back for the Vietnamese club in the 29th minute. Abdul Hadi Yahya re-established their two goal lead, and Doe added a fourth before half time.
In the second half, Doe completed his hattrick with a goal in the 73rd minute. Hoang Van Binh earned a consolation for SLNA, but Joseph Kalang Tie got the sixth to finish off an impressive win for the Malaysian side. — VNS
