The National Sports Administration has asked the Viet Nam Football Federation (VFF) to begin drug tests on players in the next football season to check for doping.
During last season no players from the top-flight V-League were tested. The VFF has tested in the past, but to little effect.
Currently doping tests for athletes at domestic events has been nearly forgotten. To counter this lack of monitoring, construction has begun on the National Sports Medicine and Doping Centre in the Ha Noi-based My Dinh Sports Complex.
The centre is scheduled to be operational in 2015. — VNS
