HCM CITY (VNS) — Han Tan Quang's stone collection is being exhibited at the Xa Loi Pagoda in HCM City to mark the ongoing Vesak 2014 celebration in Viet Nam.
Quang is well-known in the city for his stone collection, which contains hundreds of big and small pieces that he has gathered over 20 years of travel.
He has found many of the stones in streams from the central provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh to the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
Quang says that, beneath the beauty created by nature, each stone has meaning and contains a story about human beings.
Many of the stones are shaped like Buddhist temples or Zen Buddhist monks deep in meditation.
Exhibition organisers said that visitors could suggest names for the stones. The exhibition will run until May 13 at Xa Loi Pagoda, 89 Ba Huyen Thanh Quan Street in District 3.— VNS
