HA NOI (VNS) — Art lovers on Saturday had a chance to enjoy various types of art at the first street fair held at an art hub in Ha Noi.

Hundreds of people gathered at Creative City, 1 Luong Yen Street, to view paintings, sculptures, performing arts and listen to music.

There were also live performances by French visual artist Anais Bourquin and Vietnamese artist Dao Anh Khanh.

"I feel as if I were at a street art fair in my hometown," said Marie Jansen from the Netherlands. "It's so much fun and relaxing. Yet, there should be more activities to make the fair busier."

Painter Phuong Vu Manh, who created the event, said he was inspired by street art performances he saw during a recent trip to Europe.

"I saw them so free, to live in their arts and entertain audiences," he said. "I really want to set up such areas for street arts in Ha Noi, where artists perform, while other people relax after working long hours. I think it's an interesting feature of culture and a way to bring the arts closer to people. "

Manh said he wanted to organise such a show every three months.

Nguyen Thanh Ha, a senior student from Ha Noi University of Architecture, said she was happy to participate in the fair.

"I have been invited to come here to offer portrait drawing services," she said. "It's a good way for me to practise my skills, as well as participate in an atmosphere of art. I hope to join other fairs next time."

There was also henna painting and tarot card fortune telling at the fair.
