Viet Nam will hold a film festival in France

Nationwide screening of an array of historical films and documentary
movies will be held to celebrate the nation''s notable anniversaries,
announced the culture ministry''s Cinematography Department.
Vietnamese filmmakers have been urged to produce quality movies "full of
human value" and Vietnamese cultural identity to develop the country''s
film industry.
The 2nd Ha Noi International Film Festival (HANIFF)
will kick off this Sunday. More than 100 feature films, documentaries
and short films will be shown during the five-day event.
Vietnamese cinema had taken a giant step forward
over the past decade and local audiences were starting to return to the
silver screen, according to participants at a workshop reviewing the
advance of domestic film makers held here yesterday.
