The conservation centre in Hue yesterday opened a new section inside the
former Imperial Citadel to display the ambience of the queen mothers
under the Nguyen dynasty (1802-1945).
The US yesterday handed over restored royal items from Hue valued at
US$29,084 and gave the city''s conservation centre $700,000 to fund
preservation of a building inside the former Royal Palace.
Phan Thanh Hai, director of Hue Monuments Conservation Centre said
nearly 3,500 international tourists were the first visitors in Hue on
the first day of 2014.
