Director Nguyen Hoang Diep''s first feature film, entitled "Dap Canh Giua Khong Trung" (Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere), has won three prizes at the 29th Fribourg International Film Festival.
Director Nguyen Hoang Diep was so excited to receive an award at the
36th Film Festival of the Three Continents (France) that she sang
instead of giving an acceptance speech.

Khong Trung (Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere) won the best film
category at the International Critics'' Week, the independent sidebar of
this year''s Venice International Film Festival.
The independence film Dap Canh Giua Khong Trung
(Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere) by young director Nguyen Hoang Diep will
join the 39th Toronto Film Festival.
An independent film Dap Canh Giua Khong Trung (Flapping in The Middle of
Nowhere) will be screened at the 71st Venice Film International
Festival from August 27 to September 6.
