Hue held a series of cultural events welcoming international and local
delegates to the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of UNESCO''s
recognition of Hue''s monuments and the 10 years since the recognition of
the city''s royal court music.
As many as 15 artists from Hue''s Royal Art Theatre have joined forces
with Japanese musicians to perform in Japan''s Nara prefecture in honour
of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Hue''s royal buildings and monuments are threatened by decay caused by
the impact of climate change and a back up of water in the surrounding
waterways.
The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre (HMCC) and the
German Conservation Restoration & Education Project (GCREP)
yesterday started work on a project to conserve and restore the interior
decor of the Ta Vu Building (Mandarins'' House) in Hue Imperial Citadel.
