Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai spent all of 2014 conducting research trips
to Vietnamese fishing villages in Siem Reap and Pursat provinces in
Cambodia, and the southern Vietnamese province of Long An.
Hue-based Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai is one of four
Vietnamese artists taking part in an international exhibition entitled
Riverscapes IN FLUX, taking place at the Goethe Institute in Ha Noi
through April 29.
A new art installation at the Goethe Institute by
Hue-based artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai is entitled The Vestiges and
features about 60 wooden boxes with sandals and other objects found
along the Huong River, recalling the dramatic floods in central region
in 1999.
