A plan to redesign the Sai Gon Zoo and Botanical Gardens by German
architect Peter Rasbach has been approved by the zoo management and will
next be submitted to the HCM City Department of Urban Planning and
Architecture.
HCM City will launch its first electric bus service
going through downtown tourist destinations like Ben Thanh Market, the
War Remnants Museum and the Nguyen Hue walking street early next month.
Poussieres de Vie (PDV), a non-governmental organisation ensuring
lasting change for children in need, will host its annual fundraising
event called Kermesse at the Sai Gon Zoo on Sunday, from 9am to 4pm.
About 20,000 people are expected to celebrate Kermesse 2012 at the Sai Gon Zoo on Sunday, December 16. Poussiere de Vie, an NGO that is organising the festival, said it is a Family Day for a Good Cause.
Visitors to the Sai Gon Zoo and Botanical Gardens
will see with admiration a newly restored artistic work near the Hung
Kings Temple – a bronze elephant statue gifted by King Prajadhipok (Rama
VII of Siam) in 1934 as a mark of friendship.
