The Globe Theatre from London will bring William Shakespeare''s tragedy
Hamlet to HCM City''s audiences on July 13 as part of its two-year world
tour to the 450th anniverary of the birth of the playwright.
The Shakespeare classic Hamlet, will return to the stage in Viet Nam
early this June. It is the first play in a long line of world classics
to be performed by the Viet Nam National Drama Theatre.
To celebrate the 400th anniversary of the death of the great English
poet, playwright, and actor William Shakespeare, the British Council has
launched a global programme to honour his life.
Aoife Mannix, a recognisable voice on the UK live
literature scene, has arrived in Viet Nam for the European Literature
Days 2014 to begin in Ha Noi tomorrow.
The timeless appeal and relevance of William
Shakespeare reached out to Vietnamese youth under the skilful direction
of Paul Stebbing last weekend at the HCM City Opera House.
The Viet Nam Youth Theatre has been invited for the
first time to attend the annual World Shakespeare Festival in Liverpool
in June – a mark of Vietnamese theatre''s growing profile
internationally.
