Around 150 kinds of regionally distinguished fruits
will be sold on 50 boats at the "Fruit Floating Market" at the 2015
Southern Fruit Festival to be held early next month in HCM City, a press
briefing was told on Thursday.
HCM City cultural centres and art troupes are set to
put on a slew of shows to celebrate the annual Buddhist holiday of Vu
Lan, an event that eulogises motherly love celebrated through the
seventh lunar month which began on Sunday.
More than 180 varieties of specialty fruits from 21 cities and provinces
will be showcased at the Southern Fruit Festival that will open on June
1 at the Suoi Tien Theme Park in HCM City''s District 9.
The ninth annual Southern Fruit Festival will be
held at HCM City''s Suoi Tien Amusement Park in District 9 from June 1-8,
according to the city''s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department.
Suoi Tien Theme Park in HCM City''s District 9 has
opened a 15,000-sq.m indoor playground with games and play stations for
children and a food court and souvenir shops.
Khoang Xanh-Suoi Tien is a tourist destination 60km
from Ha Noi on the way to Son Tay and located in an area of primitive
forest in Van Hoa Commune, Ba Vi District.
Performances by art troupes from Cambodia, Laos,
Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia will be the highlight of the annual
Southern Fruit Festival that opens at the Suoi Tien Park in HCM City''s
District 9 on June 1.
