Without timely intervention by local media and relevant authorities, the
unprofessional restoration of the Tram Gian (100 Compartments) pagoda
in Chuong My District, Ha Noi, last year would have damaged the
1000-year-old structure.
Initial studies indicate that the main original
timber and stone components of the Tram Gian (100 compartments) Pagoda
in Ha Noi''s Chuong My District are still intact, architect Le Thanh
Vinh, director of the Institute for Relics Conservation said yesterday.
The Tram Gian (One-hundred-compartment) Pagoda would
be restored to its original state, a representative from the Ministry
of Culture, Sports and Tourism''s Cultural Heritage Department said
yesterday.
The bell resounds from the Tram Gian (hundred
com-partment) Pagoda on a late winter afternoon as I enter through its
giant, pillared gate into a large brick yard.
