An international conference gathering more than 100
Vietnamese and foreign scholars here on Saturday confirmed once again
the glorious life and literary work of great poet Nguyen Du (18th
century), who richly deserved to be considered as a cultural symbol of
the country.
The Viet Nam Book of Records Centre has awarded five
national records to the epic poem Truyen Kieu (The Tale of Kieu) by
Nguyen Du (1766-1820), just ahead of the anniversary of the great poet''s
death on September 16.
Truyen Kieu (The Tale of Kieu), the national epic
poem written by Nguyen Du in the 18th century, has been staged by the
Youth Theatre''s experimental theatre group as a theatre piece using a
combination of contemporary and traditional forms.
