Phu Tho Province''s cultural authority has said the introduction of xoan singing in schools will play a major role in preserving and promoting the provincial heritage.
A VND165 billion (US$7.85 million) project funded by the Government will
help encourage artisans, amateur singers and young people in the
northern province of Phu Tho to preserve xoan singing.
Northern Phu Tho Province should incorporate xoan singing with the Hung Kings worship rite to better preserve it, cultural experts said yesterday at a conference in Ha Noi.
Several groups and dozens of individuals have been
honoured at a ceremony in the northern province of Phu Tho for their
contributions to preserving xoan singing.
